The Director of Welfare, Comr. Egbueze Uchechukwu Michael, along with other members of the inspection team, visited Elena’s Food and all other bukas within the complex on Friday, 13 March 2025, as part of an exercise titled SU Buka Raid 3.0.
According to reports, the visit was aimed at inspecting food vendors (bukas) around the campus to ensure proper hygiene, food safety, and compliance with Students’ Union regulations.
During the inspection, several unsanitary practices were identified. Vendors were subsequently cautioned and educated on appropriate hygiene standards, while directives were issued to ensure immediate compliance. The initiative forms part of the Students’ Union’s ongoing efforts to safeguard student health and promote a cleaner, safer food environment on campus.
