Sporting Lagos have officially sealed promotion to the Nigerian Professional Football League for next season following it’s playoff victory over Abeokuta stormers on Monday night at the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba.
Goals from Ayemwenre Rico and Saturday Okon were enough to help the team secure one of the four available NPFL promotion spots in the super 8 playoffs.
The Lagos based team was founded in 2022 and plays in the Nigerian national league (NNL) a second tier division, a year since it’s existence it has achieved a significant milestone which will go down in the club’s history.
On March 26th, the club signed a jersey sponsorship deal with Klasha brand, on march 28th, signed a technical partnership deal with Danish club Aarhus Fremad.
Sporting Lagos will become the only Lagos based team in the NPFL following the relegation of MFM last season.
