The Nigeria Police Force has announced the rescue of the Yola Campus law students in a statement. Six law students were abducted while traveling from Anambra State to Adamawa State on July 26th, 2025.

Udeme Efet, Public Relations Officer, Benue State Police Command, affirmed this in a statement on Friday at Markudi.

She revealed that the students were freed unharmed and are currently reunited with their families. Udeme mentioned that the six law students were on their way to the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus in Adamawa State when they encountered the kidnappers near Benue-Taraba boundary.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported that the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of ₦120 million and threatened to kill the students if their demands were not met.

Udeme stated, “Please be informed that the Police have triumphantly rescued six Yola Campus law students who were abducted on July 26, 2025, while traveling from Anambra State to Adamawa State and they have been safely freed and reunited with their families this morning.”

“Police authorities affirmed the rescue and assured the public that they are commited to ensuring the safety of lives and property,” she further added.

The rescue marks a relief for the families and a reminder of ongoing security concerns. Police reiterates that efforts to protect citizens remain a top priority.
