Students Affairs Division Bans Unauthorised Students Gathering On UNIBEN Campuses

Students reacted to the Bulletin, saying the statement was rather ambiguous and needed more clarification. Further enquiries made by the ACJ UNIBEN revealed that the directive was issued as a security measure in the university, and that the Dean urged all members of the university of Benin community to comply appropriately.

Prof Ighodaro, in another communique released on Thursday, ellaborated further on the directive. He said, “Following series of security reports, and as part of the renewed efforts to safeguard lives of staff and students, the Management of the University has directed that no unauthorised gathering should take place in the two campuses.”

“Only meetings for academic purpose are permitted and proper approvals obtained for such academic exercise.

“We crave your indulgence to join hands with the School authorities to keep our campuses safe.

Referring to the bulleting released two days ago, tagged “NOTICE! NOTICE!! NOTICE!!!,’ he stated, “This memo supercedes the earlier one on the subject matter dated 11th April, 2023.”
