Mr Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last general election of 2023, deleted a tweet in which he addressed Tinubu Bola Ahmed as “Mr President”.
Recall that after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu Bola Ahmed as President-elect following the February 25th general election, Mr Peter Obi neither congratulated Tinubu nor attended his inauguration on 29th May 2023.
The said tweet was posted and deleted on 30th June 2023. Mr Obi, who is in court challenging the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president, had previously posted a tweet criticising the large “120-car convoy” of the President, reiterating his stance that sacrifices for a better Nigeria must begin with the leaders at all levels of government.
According to Obi’s tweet, he had stated “allegedly showing Mr President moving with about a 120-car convoy. While, I have not had the opportunity of seeing the video, my advice remains consistent – that sacrifices for a better Nigeria must start from the leaders at all levels of government because the people have…”
Later on, Mr Peter Obi deleted the published tweet.
