The ongoing examination in the University of Benin, has, on Monday 13th, October 2025, been officially suspended following the activation of a two-week warning strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNIBEN chapter.
In an official statement released by the Students’ Union Government (SUG), through the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O), Comr. Ahonsi Godwin, students are informed that the industrial action takes immediate effect.
Academic staff have been directed to withdraw from all examination related duties and mobilize in accordance with the two weeks national strike directive.
The suspension affects all faculties across the university as all exams are hereby suspended until further notice.
The SUG further advised all students to remain calm, avoid panic, and stay informed only through official channels of communication.
This news has sparked different reactions tension among students, as most students have just one or two exam papers to end the semester.
