The management of the University of Benin has now confirmed that the first semester examinations of the 2021/2022 academic session has been postponed and the academic calendar, including that of the 2022/2023 academic session has been amended.
This comes after senate held a special meeting on Thursday, to deliberate upon and approve the amended Academic Calendar.
In an document signed by the registrar A.A. Bobola, and released by the School PRO, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, it was stated, “the University of Benin Senate at its Special Meeting held on Thursday 16th March, 2023 approved the amendment of the Academic Calendars for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 Academic sessions.”
The approved amended calendar shows that while first semester lectures continue on Wednesday, 22nd March, 2023, exams have been postponed from Monday, April 3rd, to Monday, 8th May, 2023. More details are shown in the image below;

The ACJ UNIBEN had earlier reported that the proposed calendar was not authentic. This was due to the unofficial nature in which the calendar was released. All reports published by the ACJ UNIBEN come from verified and authoritative sources.
In light of the recent development, students are expected back on campus by Tuesday, 21st March, 2023 for the continuation of the 2021/2022 academic session.
