Moving on in the 26th Nigerian University Games Association events, UNIBEN ROYALS were slated to face AMBROSE ALI UNIVERSITY (AAU) in the category of male football at 9am today 27th, January 2022 which took place at the University of Benin sports complex, Mainbowl.

The match started with a lot of suspense as no party was prepared to lose. In the first half, a player from the UNIBEN ROYALS was given a red card by the referee which led to having UNIBEN ROYALS continue the match with one man short.

Few minutes into the 2nd half of the match, AMBROSE ALI UNIVERSITY scored their first goal and the crowd went wild. UNIBEN ROYALS tapped into the vibe and delivered their first goal which was immediately counted as an Offside. Towards the end of the match, UNIBEN ROYALS placed a goal into the net to equalise with their opponent. This goal caused an argument that was chaired by an angry AAU player which later resulted to a fight.

The AAU players gave up on the match and refused to play an further. This made the referee blow the final whistle, leaving both teams to sort out their differences.

Although the match ended in a draw(1-1), UNIBEN ROYALS still emerged as the winner because their opponent gave up!
