After the uproar which occurred yesterday at the University of Benin pertaining soldiers and angry UNIBEN students, it was reported that some Army officers invaded the school in the middle of the night, possibly to retaliate.

At around 9am this morning, police officers were seen at the University of Benin’s main gate. A man and a woman from the UNIBEN Security office were seen at the scene searching and picking bullets from the floor. According to him, the Deputy VC went to the Army barracks yesterday evening, to appeal to the Nigerian Army about what happened at the Fidelity Bank yesterday. Yet, they (UNIBEN securities) were still attacked in the middle of the night. He said they (UNIBEN Securities) were stopped from taking videos that their phones were smashed.
“Soldiers came through the bank roadside, destroyed things down to the main gate area”, he added.
