The Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) has announced its upcoming 58th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference, scheduled to take place from June 23rd to 29th, 2024. The event, themed “Geospatial Information Technology in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” will be held at the Cathelea Hotels & Events Centre in Benin City, Edo State.

According to a member of the student arm of the profession, the conference aims to explore the latest advancements in geospatial information technology and its applications in the field of surveying. The event will feature keynote speakers, technical sessions, and exhibitions, providing a platform for surveyors and stakeholders to share knowledge and ideas.

According to the flyer for the AGM, the conference hotel, Edo Heritage Hotel, has been secured for participants’ accommodation. In a statement, Shedrack Ehiguese, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Institution of Surveying and Geo-Informatics Students (NISGS), Uniben chapter, said, “It is a convergence of all professionals in the field and its affiliates, as well as all those connected and interested in it. It features a conference, seminars, workshops, social events, networking opportunities and others.”
