A University of Benin student whose name is yet to be known was beaten by some officers of the Nigerian Army. Some say they are new recruits.
According to an eye – witness, the soldiers came to the different ATM stands to forcefully use it. While doing so, they saw a UNIBEN student holding her phone and thought they were being recorded by her. They then asked their female counterpart to beat her up.
This caused an uproar as UNIBEN Police quickly came to her rescue. The army officers became angry as to why they (UNIBEN Police) would carry the student they were punishing. With this, more chaos happened at the school’s Main Gate.
