The National Association of University Students, Edo State Campus Monitoring Committee, led by its chairman Comrade Osahon Destiny Eseosa, paid a visit to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Ekpoma Area Command in Edo state, ACP Mr Tossing Nandiyak on 26th September 2023. The visit aimed to foster a healthy relationship between security agencies and higher institution students domiciled in the state. The association was warmly received by ACP himself.
The CMC Chairman, COMR. OSAHON DESTINY, in his introductory speech, stated the purpose of their visit, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the Students’ association and the security agency. He also highlighted the need for innovative approaches to solve security challenges faced by students in higher institutions in the state and to foster a healthy relationship with the security agencies, particularly the Police.

ACP Mr Nandiyak, the Area Commander, appreciated the association for the visit. He emphasized the significance of students’ well-being and the importance of strict obedience to the law. ACP explained the relationship between students, university management, and the security agency. He also discussed the legal rights of the police, empowered by the law to conduct searches with warrants, which students may not be aware of.
During the course of the meeting, the CMC delegates asked questions, and the Area Commander provided comprehensive answers, ensuring that no question was left unanswered.

As the session came to an end, the Director of Gender and Campus Affairs, COMR. DEBORAH, appreciated the association and stressed their commitment to protecting and advocating for the interests and welfare of university students within Edo State.
