On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the National Vice President (South-South) of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Comr. Micheal Imoloame, led a delegation to the Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Jonathan Aigbokhan.

The visit was aimed solely at discussing very important matters with him—matters concerning youth development, employability of youths, and the sustainability and growth of the youth population, all of which are expected to improve the standard of living amongst students and youths within the state.

The visit further focused on forging very strong strategic partnerships that will foster youth empowerment, educational reform, and employability. Proposals were presented, including ones that have to do with a solid student feedback system, digital skills training, scholarship opportunities, and a regular student-legislator forum.

The Director of Strategic Communications and Public Relations, Rt. Hon. Collins Victory Odabi, who was also part of the delegation, introduced the “Get Employable Conference”, a proposed initiative by Comr. Michael’s office aimed at addressing and bridging the skills gap among students.

Hon. Aigbokhan praised and commended the association for her amazing approaches drafted and presented. He went on to pledge support as he reflected on his own personal student leadership journey.

The association, however, affirmed and reaffirmed her readiness to collaborate with the Assembly in a bid to push and facilitate very meaningful and strong policies that will benefit the majority of students across Edo State.
