On Monday, 13 November, 2023, Comr. Osahon Eseosa Destiny, Chairman of NAUS CMC, Edo State chapter, led his team to the Edo State Ministry of Digital Economy, Science and Technology to propose and enhance innovative tech education.
During the meeting, Comr. Osahon Eseosa Destiny, Chairman of NAUS CMC, Edo State chapter, began by appreciating the Honourable Commissioner, Ogbeide Ifaluyi Isibor for receiving the leadership of the association. The Chairman made a comprehensive overview about NAUS and its goals, mission and strategic significance to forge a partnership with the Ministry. The visit of the association to the Ministry was to ensure a collaboration aimed not only to extend understanding of digital polices but to promote digital literacy and offer students adequate experience.
Comr. Gbolahan Yisa Lasisi, the esteemed Director of Information Technology and Innovation, NAUS CMC, Edo State chapter, tendered his proposal for collaboration between the Ministry and Association. His visionary proposal outlined extensive internship opportunities for students across various digital domains. The projects encompassed digital policy development, implementation, digital transformation plans and skills training, eloquently presented. Moreover, the proposal envisioned engaging events like hackathons, pitch competitions, workshops, bootcamps and seminars, designed to immerse students in the dynamic world of digital technology.
As the meeting came to an end, Comr. Sharon Osimhi, extended sincere appreciation to the Commissioner. She emphasized how his support served as a beacon of encouragement, reaffirming NAUS’s mission to establish a conducive environment for university students in Edo State. Expressing great enthusiasm for the upcoming collaboration, Comr. Sharon envisioned a future where science and technology initiatives, guided by the ministry, would empower university students with indispensable tech skills.
