There has been discontent and dissatisfaction among members of the Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), over the neglect of their needs and demands.
It is the duty of the Governing Councils of these two bodies to provide a mutually beneficial working environment for their members as well as cater to their needs, but this seems not to be the case.

The National Leadership of Non Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institution (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has directed all members under their umbrellas to embark on a 14day Warning Strike to commence from Monday 5th to Monday 19th October, 2020 due to non payment of arrears, inconsistencies of the integrated payroll and IPPIS, Usurpation of headship of non teaching units by academic staff, all of which are in clear violation of the condition of service and Establishment procedures.

The strike was endorsed by the secretaries of both unions Comr. F.O Edenagbon and Comr. Enoma Aigbovorhiuwa respectively in a letter bearing their signatures.

Students and the general public at large are to take note of this.
