It was reported that the current President, Eyituoyo Ebuhon, is not an indigene of Delta State as she claimed but rather Owan, Edo State. Her claim allowed her contest and assume the office which is meant for Deltans.
The Staff Advisor, Professor Charles Egweree, was accused of aiding Eyituoyo assume the office by eliminating viable candidates against her, making her stand unopposed. It was also reported that Prof. Egweree appointed Fortune Agwa as the Electoral Chairman against the constitution and used him to push a constitutional amendment that diverted 10% of NADESSTU funds to him.
