The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof Lilian I. Salami, on Thursday sent a message to the University of Benin community. In a statement released by the University P.R.O, Dr Benedicta Ehanire, Prof. Salami expressed gratitude for the experience so far in her tenure as Vice Chancellor.
“My dear Brothers and Sisters,” she stated.
“I greet you all in the name of our Creator. The year 2022 has been marked with so much. As the last days of the year, 2022 roll on gracefully to usher in 2023, we can really look back reminiscing on a year that flashed the vicissitudes of life in various ways. Lots to remember, to be grateful for and also questions unanswered.
“The big question is: What does 2023 hold for us as individuals, our dear nation and the world at large?
“Only the ALMIGHTY GOD OUR CREATOR knows and can offer answers. Hence we, mortals, can only pray and that, we must do ceaselessly especially in this precarious times.
“I pray we enjoy the exit of 2022 while we pray God to grant us a very glorious 2023 filled with positive stories to tell.”
Prof. Salami who became the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin in 2019, also revealed that her tenure was gradually coming to an end. She said,
“How time flies! I am already in my penultimate year; a tenure that has interestingly marked some unprecedented events and beckoning still for a lot more to be achieved.
“I sincerely want to thank us individually and collectively for our unflinching support, commitment and dedication which undoubtedly have marked our successes and I pray God to ginger us all more while providing the means and enablement to accomplish even more to continue to lift our pride, Unibest, as this administration moves on.
