Fourth-tier side, Forest Green Rovers has appointed Hannah Dingley as caretaker head coach on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, following Duncan Ferguson’s exit, making her the first woman to manage a men’s professional team in England.

The 39 year old, Hannah Dingley previously worked as the head of the club’s academy. Dale Vince, the chairman of Forest Green Rovers said, “appointing Dingley was an easy decision to make after her good work with the academy.”

Hannah Dingley, who is so happy to have made history in football said in an interview, “I am really excited for this next step of my career. Pre-season has just begun and the full season kicks off very soon. It is an exciting time in football. I am grateful for the opportunity to step up and lead such a progressive and forward thinking club”.
