Google Developers Student Club Set to Boost Tech Awareness and Training in UNIBEN

By O.V.Collins

The Google Developers Student Club (GDSC) at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) is gearing up for a series of training sessions and community-building initiatives in an effort to empower individuals with the latest Google Technologies and career-relevant skills.

The GDSC community, committed to spreading knowledge on Google Technologies, is taking a step further this session by focusing on two key areas – training and community outreach.

With an overarching goal of equipping students and tech enthusiasts with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in the tech industry, the GDSC’s primary focus will be on organising comprehensive training programmes. These sessions are designed to help participants gain a deep understanding of various Google technologies, from cloud computing to mobile app development.

Despite the abundance of tech enthusiasts at UNIBEN, many remain unaware of the invaluable resources and networking opportunities that the GDSC offers. In response to this challenge, the GDSC will embark on an ambitious awareness campaign to ensure that every tech enthusiast at UNIBEN has the chance to benefit from this vibrant community. “What I plan on doing is mostly trainings and building the community awareness because most people who are in UNIBEN, and interested in tech don’t even know these communities exist,” the GDSC Team Lead, Promise Omoigui said, in a chat with the ACJ UNIBEN.

These upcoming developments promise to bring a wave of change in the tech landscape at UNIBEN. With training sessions and heightened community awareness, the GDSC at UNIBEN is poised to play an innovative role in nurturing the next generation of tech professionals.
