Rumours have been circulating about the University of Benin backing out of the 6-month old industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). ACJ UNIBEN has confirmed that it is false information and it should be disregarded.

This was clarified by the Public Relations Officer of the University of Benin, Dr Benedicta Enahire. “NOT TRUE. PLEASE IGNORE,” she said when contacted by our correspondent.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is still on a nationwide comprehensive and total strike and intends to remain so until the federal government attends to their demands.
