In the ongoing Ninth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Switzerland and Norway secure their places in the Round of 16 as winners and runner-up of Group A, respectively. Co-host New Zealand’s journey ends after a goalless draw against Switzerland, leaving them in third place with no chance of progressing. Meanwhile, Philippines also exits the tournament after suffering a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Norway.
As Switzerland and Norway celebrate their advancement, they eagerly await their next opponents from Group C for the upcoming matches on August 5, 2023. In Group C, Spain and Japan have already secured their spots in the Round of 16, and tomorrow’s match between them will determine the group leaders.
