The Ekosodin Vigilante Network has issued a community announcement, declaring a curfew effective from 9 pm on Friday, February 9, 2024, until 2 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024. This curfew is prompted by the burial of the late Leftist Osagie Aikihimie, a 45-year-old resident who fell victim to unknown gunmen. The deceased is survived by his wives, seven children, brothers, sisters, father, and mother.
The burial arrangements entail a Service of Songs on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 4 pm, to be held at his residence, Ekosodin Boundary Road. The body will then be conveyed from the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) to his residence, followed by internment on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10 am.
The curfew is enacted for security reasons, and residents are strongly advised to adhere to the curfew instructions during the specified period, with all movement restricted from 9 pm on Friday until 2 pm on Saturday. Additionally, businesses and shops are expected to close by 9 pm on Friday to ensure compliance with the curfew.
May the soul of the deceased rest in peace.
