In a move towards enhancing community security, the management team of the Ekosodin Vigilante, led by Chairman Mr. Isibor representing the Odionwere, recently paid a visit to Area Commander Auwuli at Ekiadorlor, Benin City. The purpose of this visit was to advocate cooperation and collaboration in the fight against crime.

A report by Ekosodin Vigilante Admin Owobu Usigbe revealed that during the meeting, Area Commander Auwuli expressed her gratitude for the visit, stating that she had been anticipating such cooperation for some time. She pledged her commitment to providing assistance whenever challenges arise in the area. Commander Auwuli also commended the vigilante team for their exemplary professionalism, which has not been marred by any negative reports, and urged them to maintain this standard.

“This collaborative effort between the Ekosodin Vigilante and the Area Command is a positive step towards tackling crime and ensuring the well-being of Ekosodin residents,” a final-year UNIBEN student said, reacting to the report.

During the meeting, Commander Auwuli emphasized the importance of working closely with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in their jurisdiction to ensure efficiency in their operations. She took the opportunity to introduce other members of her management team to the Ekosodin Vigilante.

Furthermore, she advised the vigilante team to prioritize intelligence gathering before taking enforcement actions. She raised concerns about reports of drug sales and the high rate of drug consumption among the youth in Ekosodin. Commander Auwuli warned those involved in the drug trade to reconsider their activities or relocate before they are faced with legal consequences.

Accompanying Chairman Mr. Isibor were Sector Commander of Uniben Leftist Osagie, Leftist Owobu, and Mr. Agho, demonstrating a united front in the pursuit of community safety.
