The Edo State Government has taken a proactive step in enhancing public safety by releasing two telephone lines, 112 and 739, for members of the public to call in times of distress or emergency situations. This announcement, made by the Public Relations and Protocol Unit of the University of Benin, underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare and security of its citizens.

The University of Benin community, situated within the state, has been particularly encouraged to make use of these telephone lines whenever necessary, especially in cases where there is a breach of public safety. This initiative aims to provide swift assistance and support to individuals facing emergencies within the community.

Given this directive, the Edo State Government hopes to empower citizens to take prompt action during critical situations, thereby contributing to the overall security and well-being of society at large.
