The Edo State Government, through the Edo State Ministry of Education, has announced a new resumption date for public and private schools within the state.

The earlier resumption date for public and private schools, which was slated for Monday, 9 September 2024, was postponed due to the Edo State Gubernatorial Elections scheduled to hold later in the month.

In a memo signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ojo Akin-Longe, the new date for schools’ resumption was announced. Schools are now expected to resume on Monday, 30 September 2024.

The general public was also urged to disregard the false news circulating that schools are to resume on Monday, 23 September 2024, as it did not originate from the Edo State Government.
