In a vibrant celebration of heritage and talent, the Roots & Colours Contest 2025 is set to spotlight the unique cultural expressions of Delta State students within the University of Benin (UNIBEN) and the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

The Roots & Colours Contest 2025 is set to focus the spotlight on the unique and amazing talents of Delta State students across the shores of the prestigious University of Benin (UNIBEN) alongside the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). The showcase invites the students to expressly showcase their roots through cultural music, dance, poetry, fashion, visual art, acting, and essay writing.

Tagged with an amazing prize pool of ₦300,000, including ₦150k for the 1st position, ₦100k for the 2nd, and ₦50k for the 3rd, plus other very exciting giveaways and consolation prizes, the contest promises to be very competitive and greatly rewarding.

However, before students are deemed qualified, they are expected to submit a 3-minute video or a literary piece explaining how their work reflects the Deltan heritage and culture. Submissions for this will end on August 18, 2025 and students are expected to submit via the Google form: https://shorturl.at/IViXA

The organizers of the contest are encouraging a very wide participation, as they expect a large turnout from the students, thus affirming the theme: “Delta no dey carry last!”
