Content creator and food lover, Chef T, popularly known as “diaryofakitchenlover” on Instagram, has sparked a conversation on body shaming following the passing of a dancer on Instagram whose handle was BigButfitneylo.
In the post, “diaryofakitchenlover” shared her pain over the hurtful comments related to body shaming. She stated that body shaming is—and should never be—acceptable in society, adding that it only leads to “harm, insecurity, and people taking measures that harm them eventually.”
In her post, she spoke about the late dancer, BigButfitneylo, revealing that she was body shamed to the extent that she felt bad whenever she read comments on her happy posts. According to her, “You’ll find her dancing so happily, but look at these sad humans who don’t see anything good in people—writing nice things on her page after she passed.”
Chef T further stated that whether or not the dancer passed as a result of body shaming, it was clear that despite the deceased being open about the struggles of her size, people still went ahead to call her fat.
She challenged those who make negative comments about other people’s bodies, urging them to “STOP IT! IT’S ENOUGH!” She expressed her frustration and called out those who body shame and leave others emotionally damaged, labeling them as enablers.
She concluded with a heartfelt call for people to repent from body shaming and to flee from such thoughts, as it has a lasting impact on mental health.
