Glory and honour to pastor Charles Leonard who birth with the idea of celebrating children’s day in 1875, where he had the celebration in his church in United state of America.

Although it was only limited to his church but when love will have its way, his idea grew far and wide as the branches of love stretch.
Rubab Mansor came into the story with his line of a universal children’s day which was adopted by the United nations in 1954. Now, different countries have different days in which they celebrate their children ( Nigeria May 27, Germany Sept 20, India Nov 14).

All for the love of children, who are one third of our population and all of our future. It has also become the habit of schools to celebrate children’s day in honour of our students. Government officials and media organisations also on this day, honour some children with leadership opportunities. Certain radio and TV station do this by featuring child broadcasters on air and letting them anchor programmes for the early part of the day. Similary, certain government officials allow a children to shadow them as “State Governors” for a major portion of the day.

“Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children”- said Charles R .Swindoll.

This day rings the bell for good parenting in the hearts of many Women. As we celebrate another children’s day, parent should critically evaluate their Parent – Child relationships. If in doubt that their efforts are adequate or that the children are heading in the right direction, they should make proper amendments. They should do these things keeping in mind that made Vagabonds do not grow from the soil and neither do terrorists fall from the sky.

This day helps to sensitize the world of some of the challenges and abuses children face daily across the globe – denial of quality education, exploitation, boy\girl child discrimination, killing\maiming, child abduction, child prostitution and pornography.

“Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.” – John F. Kennedy

HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY.
