The Great Achievers and Summit Award of Excellence 2024 was organised by the Great Achievers Initiative for Youth and Community Development (GAIYCD). The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukayode, who was part of the Summit, called on the youth across the country to embrace peace, dignity, passion, a life of focus, and creativity in order to stay away from economic and financial crime.
This was discussed recently at the Summit (GAIYCD) in Abuja by Ola Olukayode, the EFCC Chairman. He spoke through the Head of the Enlightenment and Reorientation Unit of the EFCC, ACEII Aisha Mohammed, who elaborated that only by living a purposeful life can the youth abstain from fraudulent acts and focus on higher living standards and values. The EFCC Chairman also pointed out that education plays a vital role in the life of the youth by providing foundational knowledge, suggesting that institutions should incorporate leadership-oriented curricula that encourage critical thinking, good communication skills, and problem-solving.
In addition, he urged the youth to continue dreaming big while standing on solid ground, and to speak up for what is right and wrong in society, so that together they can stand strong and build a brighter future that the nation can be proud of.
Moving forward on the journey of leadership, he reminded the youth that leadership is not about titles, but about impact; influence is not about authority, but about character. The future is not about predicting, but about creating. He stated that the youth share the responsibility of moving the country forward, with the pledge: “I charge us all to come together to share the future leadership of our society. It is a collective responsibility for us all, and the only solution to make Nigeria great,” he said.
He concluded by saying, “I leave you with a challenge: to ensure our leadership is a force for good, and where our collective potential is unleashed.”
