The Faculty of law Library, University of Ilorin, on Monday, October 2, 2023, received books donation worth 5 million Naira from Belgore Law Library foundation. With the intent to further strengthen the institution’s legal department and assist in the development of the library’s collection, the donation serves as a testament to the foundation’s dedication to promoting legal education and making quality resources accessible to law students and researchers.
Presenting the books, the Belgore Law Library Foundation’s Vice Chairman, Ayo Arowoshegbe, described the Founder and Former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Salihu Modibbo Alfa Belgore, GCON, as passionate about making the institution’s Law Library the best in the country. According to the University, the foundation is currently planning to build a new Law Library for the university.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN, thanked the Foundation for their generosity and expressed the university’s desire to work with them for mutually beneficial relationship.
Joining the Vice Chancellor at the ceremonious event were senior members of the university’s administration including the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olubunmi Omotesho, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Suleiman Ambali, the Registrar, Mr. Mansur Alfanla, FCIML, representative of the Bursar, Mr. Abdulganiyu Olaniyan, and the University Librarian, Dr. Kamaldeen Omopupa.
“We commend the Belgore Law Library Foundation for their commitment to improving legal education in Nigeria. Together, we’re shaping a brighter future for legal education in Nigeria,” the University said via its official twitter handle.
