…Salami calls for more spirited individuals and organisations to emulate the gesture
A multi-national oil servicing company, Baker Hughes Nigeria Limited on Friday, August 26, 2022, donated multi-million naira laboratory equipment to the Department of Petroleum Engineering, University of Benin.
The presentation was done at the school premises, with the Vice Chancellor of the school, Professor Lilian Salami present at the presentation.
The Team Leader, Geo-services, of the company, Mr Ndokwe Chidi Ndokwe, said the gesture is to bridge the industry/ academia gap in the training of students of the Department and fulfilment of their corporate social responsibility.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lilian Salami, who received the equipment, thanked the Company for the kind donation which answers to the administration’s desire and commitment to providing the best teaching aids in the training of students to enable them to compete favourably with their counterparts globally.
The Vice Chancellor however seized the privilege to call on other public-spirited persons and organisations to emulate the gesture.
News.uniben.edu reported that Equipment donated includes Digital Weighing Balance, Sand Content Kit, pH Meter, Water Analysis Kit, Retorts Kit and Hydrometer.
Principal Officers of the University, the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, HOD, Petroleum Engineering and other stakeholders were with the Vice-Chancellor to receive the laboratory equipment.
