The Academic Staff Union of Universities have will embark on a one-day nationwide protest between Monday, 14th of November 2022, and Friday, 18th of November where Federal universities across the country are to pick a day to hold a protest in response to the federal government implementation of the “no-work no-pay” policy.

This development was confirmed by the chairman of ASUU, University of Lagos (UNILAG) branch, Dr. Dele Ashiru, on Sunday.

Dr Dele said that every university where ASUU has members has been directed to choose a day within the week to hold a special congress and also go on protest rally within their campuses.

He further said that UNILAG-ASUU had fixed Tuesday, November 15, for its own protest.

Mr Dele stated that university lecturers are intellectuals and professionals and cannot, therefore, be treated like casual workers.

Although, UNIBEN has not declared its date, students are dreading the effect this protest will have on their already choked up calendar.
