The Ambrose Alli University (AAU) has released a directive for all staff to stay away from the university main campus until further notice due to the ongoing protests by the students of the school. The protest which is a way for the student to express their anger towards the increase of the school fees has been going on since last week Monday as the school fees hike did not only affect the old students but also the new intakes as well.

The Students, led by the NANS’ Vice president, Vanessa Egbeahie has accused the school’s management of turning a blind eye to their plight. The school’s management has also been accused of being insensitive and ignoring the fact that most of the students can not afford to pay the fixed amount and this might cause difficulty for its students. They have also promised to continue protesting until all their demands are met. Poor infrastructure and lack of facilities in the school are also some of the reasons for the protest in the school.

The directive, instructing the staffs to stay away from school, was issued by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunny Ogbeifun and signed by the acting registrar. He also advised strongly against any form of gathering at the entrance as well as the exists of the school.
