Nigeria’s Super Eagles continue to soar. On Friday, February 2nd, the Super defeated Angola and secured a spot in the semi-final. Angola’s defeat brought their journey in the ongoing African Cup of Nations to an end.
On Saturday, February 3rd, South Africa’s national team defeated Cape Verde in a 2-1 win. This victory earned South Africa’s national team a spot in the semi-final and marked the end of Cape Verde’s journey in the ongoing 2023 TotalEnergies AFCON. Bafana Bafana will face the Super Eagles in the semi-finals. Nigeria had won South Africa in their clash in the 2019 quarterfinal.
The victory of the Super Eagles so far in the ongoing football tournament has been a result of powerful teamwork. Nigeria’s goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has been quite impressive in all of their matches. Nwabali has kept four consecutive clean sheets in the ongoing football tournament. On the other side, South Africa’s Ronwen William’s penalty saves led to their win over Cape Verde. Ronwen has displayed great consistency in the ongoing AFCON.
The Super Eagles will face South Africa’s Bafana Bafana by 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, at the 40,000-capacity Peace Stadium in Bouake. The outcome of the match will determine who qualifies for the final.
