The Super Eagles of Nigeria progressed to the quarter-finals of the ongoing African Cup of Nations after a remarkable 2-0 victory against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Saturday, 27th January 2024. Sadly, the defeat signaled the end of Cameroon’s journey in the tournament.

The Nigerian national team clinched a victory thanks to Ademola Lookman’s two goals, Victor Osimhen’s outstanding performance, and the team’s overall impressive teamwork. Osimhen’s outstanding display earned him chants of praise from Nigerian supporters after the game. Unfortunately, Nwabali was injured 80 minutes into the game and was replaced by Uzoho; Nigerians are wishing the goalkeeper a speedy recovery before the quarter-finals.

The Super Eagles will be facing Angola’s Giant Sable Antelope in the quarter-finals of the AFCON. The match will take place at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on February 2nd, 2024, at 6 pm. Angola secured their spot in the quarter-finals with a 3-0 win against Namibia on Friday. Nigerians are hoping and praying for the Super Eagles to win the tournament..
