In recognition of academic excellence, the Department of English Language and Literature has honoured one of its outstanding students for her remarkable academic performance.

On Tuesday, 29th of July, a 400-level student, Favour Imuekehme, from the Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, was awarded by the department for being the best student in the department’s academic records.

Favour Imuekehme has been known for her consistent drive and zeal towards academics, maintaining an exceptional result right from her 100-level days down to her present level.

Dorcas, a coursemate of Favour, said: “I’m excited the department did this, as it prompts courage to do more.”

A student from the 300 level commented: “I’m surprised they give awards to the best student in the department. I really need to work harder.”

The department, alongside her coursemates and friends, came together to celebrate Favour, crowning it “Her Big Day.”

The Head of Department further encouraged other students in the department to work hard in ensuring academic excellence, challenging one another to do better, as it often brings rewards.
