A tragic incident occurred on Saturday, 26 October 2024, in Afashio Uzairue community, Auchi, Edo State.
According to reports, a young man and four others, including his current girlfriend and three male friends, were found dead after consuming a plate of allegedly poisoned pepper soup prepared by his ex-girlfriend, a 16-year-old named Peculiar.
The details remain sketchy, and the circumstances are still under investigation at the time of compiling this report.
An eyewitness reported that Peculiar was allegedly seeking revenge against her ex-boyfriend for ending their relationship. Tragically, her actions not only claimed his life but also those of his friends who shared the meal. Their lifeless bodies were discovered in a room.
The ex boyfriend had an accident previously and was under medications before the incident, the pepper soup she offered was a get well soon meal that was why the guy accepted it without suspecting any foul play. The girl is currently in the police custody.
